JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 12-year-old lad was struck by a conveyance Monday day connected Jacksonville’s Westside and critically injured, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to the Highway Patrol, the 12-year-old was traveling southbound connected Combs Road on the roadway’s borderline adjacent Normandy Boulevard soon aft 2 p.m. arsenic a pickup motortruck heading westbound approached the intersection of Combs Road.

Troopers said the lad “darted into the path” of the pickup portion attempted to transverse the roadway and the beforehand of the pickup struck him.

The Highway Patrol said the lad suffered captious injuries.

According to troopers, the operator of the pickup, a 42-year-old Jacksonville man, was not injured.
