JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 16-year-old is facing manslaughter and different charges in the shooting decease of a 15-year-old young man connected Grant Road earlier this month, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.

Police were called to the country connected Grant Road astir 9:25 p.m. July 2. When officers arrived, they recovered the 15-year-old with a gunshot coiled to his precocious torso. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took him to the infirmary wherever helium died.

Police said the probe revealed the unfortunate and respective different juveniles were wrong of a shed erstwhile 1 of them produced a firearm. While the 16-year-old was handling the firearm, it discharged and struck the victim. 

Investigators said they recovered nary denotation the shooting was intentional.

The 16-year-old was aboriginal charged with manslaughter, equipped trespassing, tampering with grounds and possession of a firearm by a minor.
