AESL emerged as the successful bidder (L1) and will execute the project through its wholly-owned special purpose vehicle (SPV), Satara Power Transmission Limited.

According to the company's exchange filing, the project is scheduled to be completed within 36 months from the date of execution. It will add approximately 562 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 9,000 MVA of transformation capacity to AESL's existing portfolio. Once operational, this will bring the company's cumulative transmission network to 29,739 circuit kilometres and its transformation capacity to 143,425 MVA.

The scope of work includes the establishment of a new 765/400 kV substation at Satara, a 765 kV double-circuit transmission line connecting Kolhapur and Satara, the extension of the existing Kolhapur pooling station, and associated transmission infrastructure. These assets are expected to significantly enhance the grid's ability to absorb renewable energy and provide the flexibility needed for pumped-storage hydroelectric projects.
